Annual Inspection, 100 Hour Inspection, Pre-purchase Inspection, Pre-purchase Survey, Condition Report check list.Annual Inspection-A yearly detailed inspection required on certified aircraft not public or military operated. The inspection must be preformed by one of the following. FAA certified A&P (airframe and powerplant mechanic) with an IA (inspectors authorization) An appropriate rated FAA certified repair station Aircraft manufacturer
100 Hour inspection -A detailed inspection required every 100 operating hours for commercially used aircraft including rental and flight training. The scope and depth of a 100 hour inspection is the same as the annual inspection. The only difference in who may perform and sign off the inspection. It may be accomplished by an A&P. Pre-purchase Inspection, Pre-purchase Survey, Condition Reportare non regulatory and are not recognized or defined by the FAA and can be performed by A&P, appropriate rated FAA certified repair station, or the aircraft manufacturer. The inspections are not usually to the depth and scope of an 100 hour or annual inspection, but can be. Normally these are discovery inspections which are performed to protect the prospective buyer's interest.
